Range is OK, Cooktop Unit Shattered 2 Months In

I like the range for the most part. It has most of the bells and whistles. (Bells are SO loud but anyway.) I've used most of the features except the oven steamer. I put a kettle of water on top, turned burner on. When I started to lift the kettle I could not I turned burner off, waited an hour for it to cool. When I moved the kettle, the burner had scattered. Trying to get a technician out to repair it has proved difficult. Frigidaire canceled, I'm still waiting for them to come. When I checked on it for a time I only get 8am - 5pm and they won't fix it today, they will just evaluate the problem and come again.

This new range was purchased to replace my 15 year old Frigidaire Gallery range. No complaints so far. I am planning to try the air fryer mode, but have not yet done so. My previous range was still working just fine - I wore out the door hinges (the result of many years of roasting green chiles in the oven), and replacement parts were no longer available. So far, so great.

I have always had a gas stove. My new house doesn't have gas available. I replaced the range that was there when we bought the house. It was a glass top electric and was terrible to cook with. I got the Frigidaire induction ceramic top. I really like it! Its making the transition from gas much easier. I also like the convection oven with the air fry feature. Its a very nice cooking experience.

The Second Time Around

We bought our new Frigidaire Range on August 7. On August 28, the oven stopped working. We think the cause was a power surge, but Met-Ed says they are not responsible. The authorized repairman visited us three times over about six weeks. He finally declared our new range unable to be repaired. Perhaps foolishly, we went out and bought another one and like it very much. We hope to get some compensation from our homeowner™€™s insurance. Would love to learn that Frigidaire would compensate us for the failed range, but I™€™m not counting on it. We like the range so much that we gambled and bought an identical one, but this time we purchased an additional warranty from Lowe™€™s.

Works well so far. The glass top shows everything so needs cleaning more than previous stove to remove prints and mild smudges. I thought the large burner was a little larger. The one on my old Maytag was another 1/2 to 1" more in diameter and selectable for an out and inner ring. I think the outer on this only comes on in high and the inner only comes on by itself only on low. No difference in performance. Bakes well. Have not tested out the bridge burner or air fry feature.

This is my first electric oven/range and I really am impressed. I like the convection option and the flexible sizes of the top burners. There™€™s a ™€œbridge ™€œ option on the range that lets me use my pancake griddle too. Very thoughtful feature. The air fryer is great if you™€™re feeding a crowd but I honestly won™€™t use that much energy if it™€™s just for the two of us. The countertop version is more efficient and easier to clean. Overall a great experience so far.

Oven Self clean feature

I love the range. The cooktop is easy to clean. The temperature seems to be correct in the oven as well as the burners on top. Everything works great as far as all the features that it has. The problem I do have with it though is the self clean. I self clean my oven after air frying some chicken wings and some jalapeno poppers. The door of the oven was in need of a little light cleaning but the inside of the oven running down the back by the fan was all black so that needed to have the self clean done. However after I chose 3 hours self clean and waited for it to finish and complete when the door opened the glass inside between the door and the inside glass had black streaks running down it. So in order to clean that you would have to take the door apart this is a faulty feature where those vents at the top of the door allow for the grease from the inside of the oven to get inside between the glass. The only other thing I found that I do not like is around the cooktop the edge of it is sharp in some areas so like if you were to wipe with a paper towel it shreds it. I'm hoping that over time this does not have a problem with turning to rust. Also the oven racks they aren't one continuous piece where the metal comes together and it's supposed to be soldered the 2 racks of mine are not soldered all the way around . I called the company and they said that that's not covered under the warranty I could buy new ones even though I just purchased it only 3weeks ago. It would cost me $50 a rack. I find $1,000 stove to have racks that aren't soldered properly and they won't replace them without me paying for them wrong. Also there's no guarantee that the ones that I did purchase would not come the same way. I don't think any company today stands behind their products.

We've only had this range for 1 month. We purchased it as it had better features than competitors for the purchase price. But within a few weeks, and only a few uses, the inner glass of the oven door shattered during a normal bake cycle. This is apparently a known issue and there are already multiple class-action lawsuits against Fridgidaire for this defect. We've been waiting weeks for their repair subcontractor, Tekniton, to fix the problem. There are annoying engineering choices for the controls; silencing the control-press beep means silencing the alarms and timer, too. Other UI settings are difficult to navigate.

Wow. Excellent stove. The air fryer works so well we were able to get rid of our old fryer and now have more counter space. I tried the convection roast setting yesterday to make country ribs and they were perfect. They were juicy inside yet cooked well and brown on the outside. So much faster than usual. I also luv that it has the option to clean the oven with water or high heat. I only use the heat method. It cleans the oven very well! The last stove we had only had water/steam clean which never cleaned well. This stove cleans like an old stove I had and loved. Can™€™t find anything negative to say. It™€™s very roomy. Love the 2 ice machines. It™€™s a bit noisy when filling ice trays. You do have to open both doors to get to middle drawer and one of the crisper drawers.
